Beyond the Bridge: GTH-Asia Deepens Its Roots in Kanchanaburi, Thailand
GTH-Asia Expands Thailand Presence Through Kanchanaburi Hospitality Partnership and New Operations Lead

Kanchanaburi is no longer just a stopover on the way to the River Kwai bridge. Thailand's tourism authorities have placed the province at the center of a year-round travel strategy, directing visitors away from busier destinations like Phuket and Pattaya toward nature-based provinces. GTH-Asia moved into that shift on July 29, 2026, signing a Memorandum of Understanding with 19 Degrees Resort in Kanchanaburi's Sai Yok district and naming resort owner Sudarut Mingwimol as Operations Lead for GTH-Thailand.
Regional Director Jack Yang traveled to Thailand on July 28, one day ahead of the signing, to meet directly with Sudarut and her operating teams. The two days of in-person meetings took place across Kanchanaburi and Bangkok. GTH-Asia has built a habit of forming partnerships this way, through direct conversation rather than remote deal terms, and this appointment follows the same pattern.
What the Partnership Covers
The MOU, signed on July 29, 2026, outlines cooperation across hospitality operations, business development, marketing and brand positioning, and cross-border networking between the two organizations. It also opens the door to future exploration of investment and structured capital opportunities where appropriate. The agreement itself does not commit either party to funding or financial obligations.
As Operations Lead, Sudarut's responsibilities now include business development, marketing strategy, and service quality oversight across her group's properties in Bangkok and Kanchanaburi Province. Her portfolio includes 19 Degrees Resort Kanchanaburi, Hideaway Dome Cafe and Restaurant, AM/PM Social House in Bangkok, Boat Noodle Wagyu and Australian Wagyu Flame-Grilled Thai Basil, and Madam Durian, a premium fruit brand. Together, these businesses give GTH-Thailand a close view of how accommodation, food and beverage, and retail operations work together under one leadership team.
"Sudarut has built real operational credibility across resort and hospitality management, and that's the kind of partner GTH-Asia wants to work alongside in Thailand," said Jack Yang, Regional Director, GTH-Asia. "Her track record across hospitality, resort management, and market development makes her the right partner as we strengthen our presence here."
Growth Ahead for the 19 Degrees Group
19 Degrees Resort Kanchanaburi is a riverside destination built around private villas, a private beach on the River Kwai, and a mini zoo home to Silkie chickens, rabbits, and Pygmy goats. It welcomes couples, families, groups of friends, and corporate retreats looking for a quiet, nature-first alternative to Thailand's busier coastal spots.
With the GTH-Thailand partnership now in place, Sudarut's group is looking at ways to grow that go beyond the resort itself. This includes strengthening the group's food and beverage brands, such as expanding what Hideaway Dome Cafe and Restaurant and Boat Noodle Wagyu can offer, growing distribution for Madam Durian's premium fruit products, and investing in staff training and service standards across all five properties. The goal is to build a stronger, more consistent brand across Kanchanaburi and Bangkok, not just add more rooms. Any future growth will depend on real demand from Kanchanaburi's rising share of Thailand's domestic and international travel.

JBC's First Thailand Entrepreneurship Centre Lands in Kanchanaburi
Kanchanaburi's momentum is not limited to GTH-Asia. JYSigma Business Consultancy (JBC) will open its first Entrepreneurship Centre in Thailand in Kanchanaburi. This gives the province a second layer of support, pairing GTH-Asia's partnership with an established local operator and JBC's focus on SME strategy, market entry, and business advisory services.
For local business owners, this means two regionally active organizations are now present in the same market at the same time. One works directly with an experienced hospitality operator to understand what the market actually needs. The other is opening a physical space for founders and small business owners who need guidance as they grow, in a province that Thailand's national tourism strategy has newly prioritized.
"A partnership like this only works when both sides bring something real to the table," Sudarut said. "I'm looking forward to what we can build together across Kanchanaburi and Bangkok."

GTH-Thailand Builds From Here
GTH-Asia's presence in Thailand now includes a signed partnership with an established operator, a new local lead with a diverse hospitality portfolio, and an incoming JBC Entrepreneurship Centre in the same province. Each of these is a single step. Together, they show a market GTH-Asia plans to stay close to, not one it visited once and moved on from.
"This is a new beginning for our work in Thailand," Yang added. "Strong local partners are what make regional strategy real on the ground."
